BluQube and Wessex Explorer are relaunched

It has been musical boats at Endeavour Quay this week as two very different boats came out of the boat sheds and went in to the water.

KATIE MILLER’S – BluQube

cropped2The talented young sailor Katie Miller selected Endeavour Quay as the boatyard of choice to undertake modifications and annual maintenance to her Figaro 2 racing yacht ‘BluQube’. Katie, 22 is setting sail shortly for South West France to train at the Pole France Vendee at St Gilles Croix de Vie, to prepare and later compete in the prestigious Figaro European Championship, a hotbed of sailing talent and the proving ground for some of the worlds finest offshore sailors including Sam Davies and Michel Desjoyeux.BluQube coming out of one of the boat sheds at Endeavour Quay

Endeavour Quay was very happy to provide the facilities, services and expertise that Katie needed to complete the tasks and get the boat ready for the season.  On site services used by Katie included Marine Tech, Kiwi Marine, and Endeavour Yacht Services.

WESSEX EXPLORER

A very different vessel to be launched at Endeavour Quay this week is the Wessex Explorer ready for relaunchCharter Survey Vessel Wessex Explorer. She has been using the undercover boat sheds at Endeavour Quay for a major refit over the last few months. Work undertaken included the full replacement of the defendering, full re-paint, replacement of water tanks and shafts and the installation of a new hydraulic A frame.

Wessex Explorer in one of the boat sheds Chris Hayes, Skipper of the vessel, said “we are really pleased to have chosen Endeavour Quay as the place to complete the refit, the onsite services and facilities available here are unrivalled on the South Coast of England and the flexibility and service from the yard is excellent.”

Wessex Explorer is heading to London to feature as a demonstration vessel in the forthcoming Oceanology International Exhibition at ExCel that starts 9th March. Onsite services used by Chris and his crew included Marine Tech, Kiwi Marine, and Endeavour Yacht Services and Endeavour Quay’s newest business Solent Boat Services - more news to follow -
