Gosport Marina’s specialist boatyard Endeavour Quay closed its lifting operation during the early part of September to install a brand new engine and hydraulics system to the travel hoist crane. This £70,000 investment in the machine has given it a new lease of life. Not only is the engine a great deal quieter but it is also more fuel efficient.
Those of you with a keen eye will notice that the driver’s cab has disappeared, this is because the crane is now ‘remote controlled’ allowing the operator to walk around the machine and observe the lifting from a range of vantage points. In addition to all of this, the hoist has been given a lick of paint to make sure it is looking smart and up to Premier standards! The boatyard team is delighted with the upgrade and looks forward to welcoming Premier Berth holders for winter lifting ashore soon.
