Gosport Marina’s specialist boatyard Endeavour Quay was delighted to be asked to provide winter berthing for an icon of local boat building history this winter. The Ed Dubois designed “Nashira II” is a 37 metre sloop and was the last yacht to have been built by the renowned boat builder Camper & Nicholsons in 1999; Camper & Nicholsons had previously occupied the Endeavour Quay Gosport site for 230 years.
The impressive private yacht is listed for sale with Carrswood Yachts and was recently lifted ashore at Endeavour Quay by the expert team here. At 37m LOA, 8.5metres beam and 170 tons she is the largest vessel lifted by the yard since Premier Marinas purchased Endeavour Quay in 2014.
Tim Newell, Manager of Endeavour Quay, told us “We treat all of our customer’s boats as if they are our own, but this one felt special; part of the heritage of this yard, having been the last yacht built by Campers. Lifting her ashore was truly a special moment and I commend the team here for planning and executing it so well.”
